Take A Tour of Bridgetown Barbados

Barbados is acclaimed for its visual and cultural delights, which range from its pristine underwater to its verdant hillsides, spectacular beaches, historic churches and plantations. There are a variety of outdoor activities available for tourists, include water sports (swimming, kayaking, snorkelling etc.), besides   exploring wildlife reserves, horseback riding, visiting its natural sanctuaries and lots more.

A fine place to stay in the area is the Barbados Beach Club All Inclusive Resort that is picturesquely situated on a beach of the south coast, a short distance from great places to shop and vibrant nightlife venues. It is conveniently located a little less than 6 miles from the airport as well as the capital, Bridgetown. With some great sport facilities, 2 restaurants, bars, a fitness centre and other amenities, the Barbados Beach Club will make your holiday experience a memorable one. Some of the best attractions in Barbados which are great to visit with the family are:

Barbados Wildlife Reserve: When you enter the gates of Barbados Wildlife Reserve you find yourself in a world reminiscent of prehistoric times. Its lush mahogany forest that are filled with a plethora of wildlife that include monkeys, racoons, deer, macaws, turtles, flamingos, parrots and many other species. The animals roam freely through the forest in their natural environment, which gives visitors a rare opportunity to see them in their natural habitat, not behind cages. One of the most popular animals is the Green Monkeys, which were brought to Barbados from Africa in the 17th Century. The reserve also houses an iguana sanctuary, an exotic orchid collection and an aviary.

Grenade Hall Forest & Signal Station: The Grenade Hall Signal Station was constructed in the 1800s, being one of the six towers that were strategically erected at various parts on the island. It has been restored to its authentic state, with the interior now housing historic relics, artefacts and hosting a series of exhibitions. There is a coral stone pathway built in the Grenade Hall Forest and displays of numerous educational resources along the trail, which educate visitors about the environment.

Harbour Master Cruise: If you are in Barbados then there is nothing better than to take a cruise tour of the place. One of the best, the MV Harbour Master has earned the description of being a "floating entertainment centre". The cruise trip helps to bring alive the spirit of Barbados, with its staff and crew members dressed in costumes as historical characters, to provide some great entertainment. For kids there is the beach with lifeguards where they can swim, or snorkel in the shallow waters of the reef among other activities. There is great music with calypso live bands to dance and have a fun filled evening.

Harrison's Cave: If you are in Barbados, then a visit to the spectacular Harrison’s Cave must form part of your tour itinerary. It is located in the parish of St. Thomas and is a favourite with tourists to the island. There is an informative audio-visual show that documents the history of Barbados and the natural wonders of Harrison’s Cave. Take a tram to travel through immense caverns, with waterfalls cascading over ledges into pools. There also are a variety of stalagmites and stalactites formations to be seen in the cave. An unforgettable experience for the entire family!
